The Wilton Companies announces the opening of Max & Erma's!
 June 1, 2005 - The Wilton Companies announces the opening of Max & Erma's at John Rolfe Commons Shopping Center located at 2160 John Rolfe Parkway.
John Rolfe Commons Shopping Center is a Ukrop's anchored shopping center located at the corner of John Rolfe & Ridgefield Parkways.
Established in 1972, the first Max & Erma's opened in the German Village section of Columbus, Ohio in a building which had been a neighborhood institution for more than 80 years.
They decorated it with antique artifacts and put in an All-American menu of gourmet burgers, homemade onion rings, hot apple pie and a "build-your-own sundae" bar.
After reviewing dozens of names, they decided to keep the original, which was named after the former owners Max & Erma Visocnik, because it conveyed the chummy, fun and enjoyable neighborhood gathering place where the service is friendly and the food is the best around.
